The Westraven Witch
Features of the Area
The pool: As the party approaches:
At the dead-end of the short passage is a large well, approximately 10 feet in diameter, and nearly overflowing with liquid. Shining a light on the surface, you realize it’s not filled with water, or not exactly, anyway. It is filled with watery blood. In the wall, behind it, you see writing engraved in the stone:
flesh and bones, brains and blood,
such an ungodly mess,
one lust to another,
all for the lass in the pretty red dress
the brazen with bloodshot eyes,
their tragic wet disguise,
quick meet the bones and flesh,
and the blade that caused such distress.
Getting to the Abattoir
Getting to the Abattoir is relatively simple. The pool of blood-water here is the top of a U-shaped passage, going down 10 feet, across 10 feet, and then back up another 10 feet to inside The Abattoir. Holding ones breath long enough to swim through is trivial, but that’s not the real danger. Once inside the Abattoir, being bloodied – even if not truly bloodied but simply covered in blood – could carry quite a toll.
